At WashTec, we are consistently committed to a sustainable and responsible supply chain. Our aim is not only to supply high-quality products, but also to ensure that the raw materials and components are manufactured under fair and environmentally friendly conditions.
Suppliers and service providers undergo a comprehensive assessment, which also includes strict sustainability criteria, before entering into a business/supply relationship. Even after successful onboarding, we have implemented processes to fulfil our internal requirements and the requirements of the German Supply Chain Duty of Care Act (LkSG). These processes include
- Risk assessment: We carry out regular risk analyses in order to identify and eliminate/minimise potential negative effects in our supply chain at an early stage.
- Audits: We audit our suppliers and service providers and work closely with them. The standards of our audits include reviews of energy, environmental management and occupational safety systems.
- Grievance mechanisms: We have established effective grievance mechanisms that enable all stakeholders to report violations of our standards.
- Training and awareness-raising: We continuously train our employees in the areas of human rights, working conditions and environmental protection to ensure a deep understanding and strong commitment and to pass this on to our suppliers and service providers via the Supplier Code of Conduct.
Long before the Supply Chain Duty of Care Act came into force, it was our aim to ensure a responsible and sustainable supply chain. We are convinced that companies have an important role to play in promoting human rights, fair labour conditions and environmental protection. Although the LkSG is an important legal framework, our efforts go far beyond the legal requirements. Sustainability and responsibility are deeply rooted in our corporate philosophy. Our commitment to having a positive impact on society and the environment was and remains independent of legal requirements.
That is why we attach great importance to:
- Regional partnerships: We prefer to work with local and regional suppliers and service providers. This not only reduces transport routes and therefore CO₂ emissions, but also strengthens the local economy and community.
- Transparency: We attach great importance to transparency in our supply chain. We therefore work closely with our suppliers and service providers and maintain open and trusting relationships. Our aim is to work together to ensure that all processes and operational activities are transparent and sustainable.
- Environmentally friendly practices: Our suppliers and service providers are carefully selected to ensure that they adhere to environmentally friendly practices. This includes the careful use of resources, the reduction of waste and the minimisation of energy consumption.
- Ethical principles of behaviour: To ensure our high standards, we have developed a comprehensive Supplier Code of Conduct that all our suppliers and service providers must adhere to. This code is based on the principles of sustainability, fairness and ethics.
Our commitment to the future:
We are determined to continuously strengthen and further optimise our supply chain. This includes the establishment and expansion of trusting partnerships with constant dialogue, the promotion of innovative, sustainable technologies, consistent market observation and random audits. We also support this with our understanding and expertise.
Our commitment is to be a role model for fair, sustainable and responsible business practices. Through our continuous efforts, we not only want to fulfil legal requirements, but also actively contribute to shaping a fairer and more environmentally friendly world.
